About Me.
I am a Conservation Biologist at the Minnesota Zoo. I will be working with the Director of Conservation on the Tiger Species Survival Plan & Tiger Conservation Campaign, leading our Recycle for Rainforests program, communicating the Zoo's conservation messages, and leading conservation field research. In addition to continuing dhole research in Thailand, I will be collaborating with the Smithsonian Conservation Biology Institute (SCBI) in China or Mongolia on Przewalski's horse reintroduction.
I received my Ph.D. from the University of Massachusetts in Organismic & Evolutionary Biology (OEB) and Wildlife & Fisheries Conservation (WFCON). Before coming to the Zoo, I was a postdoctoral scientist at the University of New Hampshire, studying the effects of global climate change on Great Basin small mammal communities. I also have a lifelong interest in African ecosystems, and have spent time in Namibia -- participating in, and later teaching for study abroad programs.
